Spay Neuter Assistance

Assitance for Spay or Neuter of companion animals is available for clients who qualify. Qualification is determined based up yearly income and household size and follows the federal poverty table.  

The ability of offer assistance is dependant upon grant funding available.

Co-Pays are generally required for companion animals and cover part of the cost of the surgery.

Co-pay for feral and stray cats are authorized at a different co-pay rate depending upon grant funding available.

Donations, grants and fundraisers allow us to subsidize the cost associated with the surgeries through participating veterinarian hospitals. 

Surgery Co-Pay

Female Dogs       $80
Male Dogs           $70

Female Cats         $35
Male Cats             $30

Feral/Stray Cats  May be free - $15 (we will work with you on cost if you have multiple cats you are caring for)

Prior authorization for services is necessary.

Spay and Neuter Clinics

At this time, OOHS is not scheduling any mobile Spay & Neuter clinics

OOHS follows the national guidelines for High Volume, High Quality Spay and Neuter set forth by the Journal of American Veterinary Medicine and adhere to the Oregon Veterinary Practice Act to ensure safe, high quality cate for all of our patients. 

OOHS and the highly qualified veterinarians that we work with are believers in the benefits of Juvenile Spay Neuter. We can safely spay or neuter a healthy animal as long as they weigh two pounds. We recommend animals are spayed or neutered by at least four months. 


Animal Adoptions, Foster, and Relocation Relocation Services

OOHS does not offer any foster, adoption or owner surrender services at this time. Please use one of the following agencies to coordinate those desired services:
